Dexter Season 1

Wife and I just finished watching Dexter Season 1. I had read the book that the series has based on, "Darkly Dreaming Dexter", and felt the show did a great job of retelling the story. I felt this way until I watched the last episode. I was pretty upset to see how much differently they decided to end Season 1 from the book. Dexter was supposed to set his brother free; Deborah, Dexter's foster sister, is supposed to know the truth about Dexter, and LaGuerta is supposed to be dead. Sure the show took other liberties along the way, but I found these to be the most offensive.

I finished listening to the second Dexter book today and I was hoping that Season 2 follows in its footsteps. From what I just read on Wikipedia, that is not the case. Michael C. Hall does a great job of portraying Dexter so I may watch Season 2 when it is released on DVD.

Season 2 was awesome! Did you get to it yet? Season 3 just started recently and it's getting very interesting.

I think we just got the first disc from NetFlix. It will be tough switching between this and Battlestar. I did read they synopsis of Season 2 and Season 3. I really liked the 2nd book and unfortunately, Season 2 does not really follow it. Still I have to give it a watch. You may want to read the second book (if you are reading them).

Third book is not so good.
