What are your Superbowl plans? What's your prediction and why?

To avoid the game as much as possible. I actually decided to turn on the halftime show to watch Prince. Am I the only person that didn't watch the game, couldn't care less about the commercials, but wanted to see the halftime show? What an amazing set and showcase of his skills. The rain, the purple fluorescents, the marching band, the zany hammer-ons he was pulling off like they were afterthoughts. Oh God, and the use of shadow during the Purple Rain solo...I definitely took away pointers on winning at the theatrical aspects of Guitar Hero. I wish I could have recorded it. Great stuff. Oh yeah, Prince needs to sanction his "Prince symbol" guitar for use with Guitar Hero.
Umm, so yeah, started a group.
Tip of the hat to Chris Kohler, writer of the Game|Life blog at Wired, for this awesome headline that popped up in my RSS aggregator. This is working around the gaming site networks but Chris came up with the best headline of the bunch. Unfortunately, the post that he wrote up doesn't feature this headline, so I had to steal it to preserve the memory of its genius.
A little late Wall Street Journal, but still a great read. OMG! Trent plays The Hero. I need to bust out my NIN long sleeve out tonight and break the GH guitar over a couple of keyboards. [Wall Street Journal: When Being a Fake Rock Star Is Better Than Reality]
This will be (probably) my last Guitar Hero related post until the game comes out next week. Well surfing the ole YouTube, I uncovered a Guitar Hero like none other: SArmstr0ng. What struck me as amazing is how he decided to shoot the video. It was excellent. When I saw him play Even Rats, I felt that I was better than him at Guitar Hero. When I watched him play Crossroads, I felt that he was my equal. When I watch him play The Breaking Wheel, yep, he is better. I am one of those always down strum players where he has the alternating strum technique down. The technique really makes the difference in The Breaking Wheel.
Anyway, I decided to embed Even Rats (favorite chill out and play "the hero" song) and The Breaking Wheel (for the awesome intro and excellent technique). That's it. No more Guitar Hero posts until it comes out or gets mysteriously delayed.
I saw this on Game|Life and the first thing that popped in my head was:
Link to the actual product is here. Buyer beware that this is not a sanctioned official Red Octane Guitar Hero guitar.I can play some pretty hot lixx too. You know the kind that are just way up on the tiny strings and you mash your fingers on them. Meedley meedly meedly meedley meedly meedly meedly meedly meedley meedly meedly meeee!
ZOMGWTFBBQ! Look what .tiff. made for me. I asked her a while back that I needed an illustration for an invite to an upcoming Guitar Hero II party that I will be hosting. Since .tiff. and I are Vox buds, she obliged my request. I asked that the illustration be of a punkified version of the wee one from the wee ramone photo. I am extremely pleased with the result and can not express enough gratitude for taking time out of her insane schedule to create this.
Last night, one of the wife's friend told me that when they (the wife, the wee one, and the wife's friends) were out buying some fish at the local fish market, the wee one was dancing to the song being played on the radio: Smoke on the Water. I told my wife's friend that the wee one is familiar with that song because back in the day, the wee one used to dance while her old man played Guitar Hero.
Well this evening while the family was in the basement, the wee one took my hand and pulled me toward the consoles. "Daddy play.", the wee one stated. "You want to dance to Smoke on the Water?", I queried. "Yes, Daddy". So I start up the PS2 and strap on my guitar. "Where's my guitar, Daddy?" the wee one asks.
So I grab her guitar and decide how I am going to put this on her. At the peak of the GH days (when it was the only game I played), I used to have the wee one sit down and play the guitar (unplugged) on her lap. However, since then the wee one has evolved to become a very dexterious toddler. So I made the strap as tight as it could go and slipped on the guitar. This took a while since she kept wanting to put both arms throught the strap (like a shirt), but finally she understood. I then took her left hand and had it support the neck and had her right hand on the strum bar. We started up Smoke on the Water and she had a blast. She mimicked the guitarist model's actions in the game while she played: strutting, playing with the neck completely vertical, and attempting to play the guitar behind her head. I could not be prouder of the wee one.

November is not coming soon enough. A bunch of these have been previously announced, but the surprise that I can't wait to play is "Misirlou". The wife will be pumped to see that "Crazy on You" is on the list. I foresee hours of co-op play with her no that song. The question will be who will get to play lead, and who will play rhythm or bass?
