Fellow BoVoxer jess inspired me with her recent camera acquisition to take more pictures with my SD630. Late Thursday night and Friday early morning, we had a nice snowfall that accumulated to about 2 inches in the driveway. The snow sat perfectly on each branch and gave me an excuse to take a break from shoveling the driveway.
I was at church on Saturday night waiting for Vigil services to start. None of the candles were lit and the sun was low in the sky. I decided to step into the darkened church and take some natural light shots. I did this with the SD630 which I blame for the somewhat noisy shots. Burst mode is your friend when taking these types of shots without a tripod. I like how the end result of the shots feature much more blue than I expected. The interior is painted white.
As for Photoshop, I only messed with the contrast and sharpness of the shots. No color levels were adjusted or harmed in the processing of these shots.
Here are some pictures of the snowfall so far in February. First picture is from Valentine's day and the other two are taken by the wife from when we got a light dusting at the beginning of the month. Luckily, we didn't get the nasty rainy slush that Boston got. Still, shoveling the driveway sucked and left me a broken man.
I was in Hull celebrating Christmas with the wife's extended family. They live on a house that overlooks the bay. Someone opened the blinds and remarked at how beautiful the sunset was. I didn't realize at the time because I was watching the Pats game. Luckily, I had the SD630 on me and they had a nice second story balcony off of their master bedroom.
While the hoards were getting the early bird deals on Black Friday, the wife's family and I decided to walk some of the (paved) trails in the Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge. Since the weather has been mild, the walk was a very pleasant experience.
Here we see that the U.S Army didn't do a great job cleaning up.
However, the trees were extremely beautiful.
We ran across a weather station that used to be used by the Air Force. The wife and I decided to take separate pictures of it. Which one is better?
The wife has been into shadow photos so here is a group shot (the wee one was passed out in her carriage). You know that you are dealing with a soccer family when we hike with a soccer ball in tow.
I geovox'd some of these photos for those of you that may be interested.
Thursday night, I connected the SD630 and realized I forgot to do a Weekend Photo Dump, with the craziness of the wee one's party and my mother's visit. I could consider Photos From a Hello Kitty Party the photo dump, but that would be cheating.
