In case you haven't seen it yet, Wired News has an interview with Mena regarding Vox. [Wired New: Six Apart Leads With Vox]
Clive Thompson wrote an excellent article regarding save points and game design in his Wired article entitled: Saved by The Bell. Mr. Thompson uses the current controversial game due to poor save point implementation (at least thats what all the reviewers are saying): Dead Rising.
I have yet to pick up the game (I had it in my hands at Best Buy but I did not execute the transaction) because of an interface issue I have with the game. It seems that the fonts in the game are designed for HDTVs and are completely unreadable on non-HD TV sets. Yes, the Xbox 360 is a next gen console designed for HDTVs but that should not affect the interface making the game unplayable. Hooking your 360 to an HDTV should afford you with gorgeous, crisp graphics increasing the visual appeal and possibly the immersion into the game. However, when you can not read the visual cues to what your next objective is, it makes this time sensitive game pretty difficult. I am surprised more game review sites have not picked up on this issue yet. It would be nice to see Capcom release a patch to fix this issue. For now, I can see why I would spend $60 on this game. I still have the demo on my 360's hard drive and play the demo from time to time, because senseless zombie killing is just too damn fun.
